Who.She.Is

Sherry Marchefsky, a native of Pottsville, Pa, returned to her hometown after 12 years on New Year’s Eve in 2008. Since then, she has been presenting her symphonic collection to her fans on the East Coast. Beginning at the age of 3, she was classically trained on the piano but her perpetual need for expression compelled her to start writing and composing.

Sherry completed her secondary education at Full Sail University (Orlando, Fl) in Audio Engineering.  During this time she participated and prevailed in a regional talent contest granting her a vocal position on a Dance Compilation CD for Fitzgerald Mystic Records. Upon her graduation from Full Sail, she worked for ABC News, Fox News, and National Public Radio in Washington D.C.  She recorded her first EP in Studio 4A at NPR in 2003. The recording caught the attention of Howard Rosen Promotions and was showcased on college radio stations throughout the U.S. and Canada. “Nick of Time” charted #1 in Long Beach, CA while “Another Valium Day” charted #1 in Manhattan, NY. She also obtained Jägermeister and Yuengling sponsorships in 2009.
She has over 150 shows booked each year, with 2011 having almost 200.  Her show consists of originals and covers. Her venue list contains a motley crew of different music enthusiasts: College Bars, Fine Dining Establishments, Country Clubs, Casinos, Festivals, VIP Parties, Galleries, Vineyards, etc.  Sherry’s ability to adapt to the venue environment leaves her audiences always satisfied.  She currently books her own shows, markets her signature brand, and teaches music lessons.
In May of 2010, Sherry broke her back and had to have an emergency spinal fusion.  She was out off the circuit for a mere 11 days before returning back to the stage, except now as a duo.  Since then she books 2 types of shows: Solo Act – “Sherry”, Duo Act – “Mona Lisa & the Mad Hatter”. Both shows follow the set lists of the “Party Bands”, doing mostly modern rock covers. There are over 400 cover songs she rotates in the shows ranging from One Republic, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Metallica, Aerosmith, Jewel, Offspring, Madonna, The Eagles, LMFAO, Kate Perry, Janis Joplin & more…
Early in 2012, Sherry retreated to Orlando, Florida to record her first full length album, 11:11. It was released on Friday 13th of April that year. The album photography was taken by the famed Playboy photographer, Scott Church.
Sherry was then invited to be a part of the dueling piano club chain, Howl at the Moon. However, she turned it down to keep her show focusing on the newly released album. She moved to Orlando in September 2012 to market 11:11 to a larger demographic and to play more competitive venues.

Sherry took a break from the road and enrolled in Le Cordon Bleu ,Orlando where she was able to maintain an active spot for a season on Food Network's Restaurant Impossible.  Over the last several years Sherry helped open restaurants on the Eastern Seaboard, finally returning home to her roots of Pottsville, Pa in 2017.  In Fall of 2018 she emerged back into the Eastern PA Music Scene.

Sherry’s eclectic style and untamed lyrics are the medium for which this singer/songwriter delivers her remarkable anthems rooted in jazz, rock, and soul. She continually captivates audiences with a clever balance of both original and cover music.
